When you feel truly grateful to be alive or for the gifts you have in your life it changes your mood from minute to minute…you live in a state of gratitude..When I am grateful for everything I see, hear and have each day…I can't help but be in a good mood….I love going thru each day feeling good!  Not in a polly anna kind of way ….but grateful and excited about what is coming.

This is to be a work in progress…I will be adding more about me in the coming time periods….so check back for new chapters in the story:

Chapter 2 - Spiritual Path

I was raised Catholic…I tell people I am a recovering Catholic. My Grandmother put the fear of God into me at an early age…I was taught….God is everywhere, God knows every thought you have, God sees everything you do..I didn't like church when I was young…Always got pinched in the leg for fidgeting..OUCH!
I came to call on God though whenever I was scared or really really needed something. I attended church with my Kids as I wanted them to at least have a religious exposure. I did not give them the guilt trip that I got. Their experience was much softer as it should be. I came to understand that there was a metaphysical Non-Judeo Christian side of Spirituality when organizing a men's retreat. I met a Trans Channeler. I was at an interesting cross-roads, literally, I was drawn to what I saw from the channelling experience and at the same time had been asked to attend an ecumenical men's retreat called Cursillo. I made the call to attend Cursillo as it was more in line with what I was teaching my kids at the time. It was a marvelous experience where Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, Episcopalians..et al  gathered to discuss leading a “Christian life” I met many wonderful individuals in Cursillo and became a community leader. I also worked on several Cursillo teams in putting on Cursillo Weekends. It was during this time that one of my most powerful allegiances to my faith and developing a personal relationship with God came via music. I learned thru Cursillo that God was not the God that I had been presented with as a child…Instead he loves and supports me no matter what I do, he never abandons me…I did various forms of music including a form of worship called TAIZE. This idiom was developed by a group of monks in the town of TAIZE, France. Taize services incorporate musical chants with a small group of musicians and those assembled to participate. These are very powerful experiences…At this time I was also playing music in church….I would do this for approximately 7 years at various churches and with different groups. I didn't mention this earlier, but when I was about 19 I had an accidental run in with the power of darkness or Evil that would forever confirm & solidify within me, the fact that it is real and that it does indeed exist.
My beliefs have expanded and I now can see how humans on this planet have allegiances to various deities. Buddha, God, Source, Universal Oneness, Allah, etc. Each school carries with it a set of beliefs and practices that center around a higher power. Interestingly, as well is how these beliefs affects one's beliefs regarding the hereafter..or what happens when we stop living on planet earth….I had an un-expected and life changing Spiritual Epiphany on the island of Kauai in 2002. I was told that I would be helping people in ways that I could not even imagine…When this happened I was incredulous at having gotten this message..I kept asking Why me? what do I have, what can I do that will help people…Why have you chosen me? I was told…Trust me! and I will show you the way…Well I did, I began waiting for signs or messages to come..I didn't rush things but from that moment on I continued to wait for what would come…and I believed it would come…It has happened thru music and Reiki so far. I am sure there is more to come and I am excited about that. My beliefs are now leaning towards the idea that we reincarnate through various lifetimes in accordance with how our Soul has learned it's lessons in each lifetime…That we continue to move through various lifetimes until we have learned the lessons or improved our standing as evolved souls. I believe we choose to come to this life and live the life we have at present. I believe that everything that happens to us is meant to happen and is related to the lessons we are learning in this life…This explains how the friends we have, especially our closest friends in this life we have known in past lifetimes…Their souls and ours continue to be exposed to each other as we are each moving through the term of “lifetimes” that we will all have until we reach perfection. I believe that the pools of spirits that Trans channelers receive information from exist..So I guess I am saying that I believe that we are all eternal souls. That we never cease existing..That we are a part of the “all” that is “all”. just in different stages of a long “race”. I believe that this explains how man/woman is capable of acts and works that evidence the devine.

Chapter 3  - Reiki

I am currently serving as a Reiki Master Practicioner. 
I have enjoyed reaching out to Fellow Reiki practicioners at GAIA. I have 6 Clients that I see on a regular basis, either weekly or twice a month. I treat them at my house or at our local Reiki Center here in town. I do Reiki and only Reiki as I am working to become as good a channel for the Reiki energy as I can be. I have practiced at a free clinic in my area and am considering signing up to do Reiki at a Dog and Cat show in early 08. Pets absolutely love Reiki and are very open to it…I love to watch them melt and relax into the energy when they get it..I am also looking to this show as a possible way to gain new clients as well! I have been working with the technique known as Byosen Scanning that enables one to find areas on clients that are most in need of Reiki for about a year. It is a very interesting prelude to treatments if one is willing to take the time to integrate it…You don't always find something..but it is a wonderful tool to assist the practicioner in preparing to give a treatment as if's rigors require that  you focus with intensity..I find that it works well with the GASSHO meditation. There are very good articles on Byosen Scanning at http://www.reiki.org/ which is William Rand's organization. I have spent a lot of time studying various aspects of Reiki on-line including Karuna. I am still deciding about whether I will take Karuna training in 08.

I believe that Reiki and the 7 chakras are related to each other and incorporate this into my practice when giving treatments. I have reached out to many many people across the planet about Reiki in my search for knowledge and to establish communications. There is a marvelous broadcast that takes place every Thursday at 1:00 PM on the Voice America Internet Radio, 7th Wave network. It is an interview show that is conducted by Mrs. Takata's grandaughter, Phillis Furumoto. It is a show on Reiki, I forget it's exact name..but I try to listen each week and If I can't for some reason they have archived copies of her interviews that are given by weekly date..I am at present, working to expand my practice into a more commercial venture…I have written a letter to Chiropractor's that I am going to have a Chiropractor friend of mine review. I want to get his feedback about whether Reiki would fit into a Chiropractic environment, (I think it would).  I am dedicated to serving as a Reiki Master and believe wholeheartedly that this path will open and expand for me. I don't feel that teaching is appropriate for me as of yet…I have way too much more exposure to see and experience with Reiki that I feel I need to get before attempting to advise others in their practice. Chapter 4 - Music

I am currently working as a freelance cellist in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I have performed and/or recorded with Alex Karweit, Elise LeBec, Joe Thompson, Marshall Craig, Anaphylactic, Creeping Lovely, Tru Margrit, Pistola, The A.M. Flyers, BRACKET, SpiritMoves, Dreaming Bear Kanaan, Adam Lieb & Shawna Miller. I perform at many well known clubs in SF and at well known Studios. I have branched out and taken on new projects with groups that blend Spirituality and musical improvisation, Solo alternative artists and periodic journeys into the area of heavy rock,goth/industrial rock genres. I was with a group for 10 years that performed all original music…it was a 9 piece group. This group performed on TV, live at locations in SF and at many Corporate events & Festivals at prestigious Vineyards in the Napa/Sonoma Area. I have performed with Smokey Robinson and John Tesh in Live Concert events. I developed and recorded the cello part for an Television Ad that received National play during the Tour de France in 2004. I am currently involved with 2 projects that have provided the opportunity to play in a truly free form fashion with no rules or boundaries…I have been working with an incredible drummer who is very adept at laying down grooves that I jam to…We play off of each other back and forth..and our sessions can go for over an hour and a half non-stop sometimes. .If you haven't tried this…I highly recommend it..for opening you up to playing the cello not as a cello but as a device for sound production…If you have a midi console…so much the better…I am at a point in my musical life where I do only what I want to…I performed in the Classical, Opera, Theater and Pops arenas for many many years. I am proud of my acheivements in these areas. During this time I performed with the SF Lyric Opera, SF Ray of Light Theater, Orchestra of West Marin, Santa Rosa Symphony, Ukiah Symphony, Cinnabar Theater, Lake County Symphony and various Choral /Orchestral concerts. In my early days, I worked as contractor in South Lake Tahoe and Reno at the Resort Hotels with the Reno Philharmonic under Geoffrey Stone and performed with such starts as Mel Torme, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Mathis, George Shearing.  There are many opportunities for cellists who are trained and have the will and desire to expand their musical toolbox..The opportunity is there and so is the $$$$$. At the present time I enjoy working with people who's Art is unusual or “edgy” . These artists have a sound that is non- traditional and allows me to roam free with the cello serving the music melodically when necessary but let's me shredd or try unusual things. I enjoy being “out there” in space when making music and I am not afraid to “boldly go where no cellist has gone before”. I get called for orchestral gigs, recording gigs,live shows, solo gigs weddings,parties..I've decided not to do weddings and parties this year. I got burned out after doing this way more than I had intended..last year..I have procured an electric cello for use in special circumstances. 

The old saying that with age comes wisdom..is true..there are many things now that I can deal with that in my younger days would have cause me grief..Don't sweat the small stuff, live each day the way you want to live it..you are the driver don't let someone else choose where you go..and appreciate the beauty around you…We have to lead the way in healing this world and making it the kind of place it should be…If we all take responsibility for doing our part….the sum total of our efforts will create what is needed… My Cello webpage is at
